Sale cattle walk 150km to new home
28 May, 2010 Thank you to all the buyers, bidders and supporters of the 3R Cattle Auction. Your support is much appreciated.
Beachport Liquid Minerals kindly donated 20ltrs of product to the highest value buyer - Mungoorbada Aboriginal Corporation. Thank you.
Bill South, Tony Jack, Steve Anderson and others from Mungoorbada (Robinson River, Borroloola) showed amazing dedication and commitment to secure quality genetics at the sale. They were rewarded with a great line of 95 head at bargain basement prices. There had been so much rain in the Gulf in the lead up to the sale that they had to fly in to Katherine to attend the sale. The cattle finally arrived at their destination today (4 weeks later)! First, they had to be held at Coodardie and Cave Creek until the roadtrain could get close. Aboriginal stockman walked the cattle the last 150km into Robinson River. Lucky the cattle were good and quiet and Territory fit and strong!
Amazing Value
Late March, 2010 Fine tuning and last minute details are keeping us busy as we prepare for the new initiative - 3R Cattle Auction - in Katherine on the 30th April. - and prepare for the start of a beautiful and fresh new Tourism season.
For those who will be attending the 26th Annual NT Cattlemen’s Ass Annual Conference, we look forward to catching up with you there.
A happy and safe Easter to all.
New Year 2010
1 March, 2010 Wow, already we are into the third month of the year! Mataranka saw a good start to the wet season, a sunny middle and as the monsoon returns, here’s hoping it will be a strong finish. We hope that the season is being kind to you.
You will notice that the web site has been fine - tuned so please take the time to take a further look.
Winter Delights
July 2009 The crisp blue skies and still pleasant shadings of green and gold mark the Top End Dry season. Days of perfect weather and cool fresh nights - the ideal time to visit the NT and to stay at Coodardie.
The cattle are in good form after a good, albeit very short, wet season and the men have been busy mustering and drafting animals into sale lots. Click here for current great deals on bulls, including a look at our auction team for Fitzroy Crossing, 21 Aug, and a great opportunity to secure good young breeders.
Fresh Spring Beginnings
1 September, 2008 This current upload finds me sitting amongst packing boxes and getting ready to move back down the track. Colin and my wedding is now just around the corner. On our return we will be living and working full time at Numul Numul Station.
You will find a few new sections now listed. “Coo-ee” is a new section which has past general G’day columns listed. . Also new is the promised slide show on Soil Carbon and grazing pictorially showing how managed grazing can repair and improve our country.
Keep posted, soon will be new photos of our current great cattle offerings.
New Edition to the family
As I write it is Thursday, July 24, 2008 and wow, so much has happened in the 3 months since I last updated. Young Caleb Lanzarin has blessed us with his presence, keeping us all entertained, his parents fully occupied and his Nan and Poppy very happy.
The NT Show Circuit is now just about complete for another year with the Royal Darwin Show currently on. The stations have been busy with mustering and processing cows, weaners and sale cattle.
Dry Season welcomes
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 Bright blue skies are frequent, the dragon flies are active and the cooler mornings are welcoming in the dry season. The station country is green and fresh and all are busy with first round muster.
If you are keen to be part of this amazing team and experience life at Numul for yourself, (or know of someone who might be) check out the notice board for current position vacant - general station hand / all rounder.
